I spent one week in Jaisalmer and met some friends again: the carpet king Phavi, voluntary organiser Sawai and both brothers’ families, hotel keeper Jamin and the whole crew, camel safari guide Hossain, shoe shiner Krishna and the other one who doesn’t speak, lots of familiar looking sales persons, etc…
I didn’t go for an overnight safari this time, but I got some filling on a jeep safari in the evening and a dinner with charming fellow tourists.
I got to see Jamin’s farm where he grows cumin and something whose name I didn’t get and don’t know the herb. Harvesting time is in February; during the summer, lots and lots of organic vegetables will be grown. Jamin also plans to build farmhouse-type houses for tourists. I’ll be waiting for future visits to Jaisalmer!
